Inner Ring Multi-Figure Frieze. Read from bottom to top, each pillar moves from earth to heaven — from the deeds of people to the sacred story that guided them. A view from inside the ring of pillars, where the reliefs surround the visitor on every side. Crowned heads look out from several pillars — the Bagrationi dynasty ruled parts of Georgia for about a thousand years, one of the longest reigns in Europe.
