Chronicle of Georgia: Plaza Facing the Pillar Ring
Plaza Facing the Pillar Ring. The Chronicle of Georgia is the work of sculptor Zurab Tsereteli, who began the memorial in 1985 as a history of the nation cast in bronze and stone. A 360° view from the upper plaza, where the giant pillars stand in a ring on the summit of the hill. Sixteen pillars between 30 and 35 metres tall form the memorial — the upper tiers show the life of Christ, the lower ones Georgia’s kings, queens and heroes.
