Chronicle of Georgia: View Through the Pillar Ring
View Through the Pillar Ring. Standing at the foot of a pillar shows the memorial’s true scale: a single relief figure is taller than a house. A view from inside the ring of pillars, where the reliefs surround the visitor on every side. In the 4th century Saint Nino brought Christianity to Kartli, carrying a cross of grapevine bound with her own hair — still the symbol of Georgian faith.
