Jvari Monastery: High Drone Orbit from the East above the Fortress Walls
High Drone Orbit from the East above the Fortress Walls. A higher drone orbit about 27 m above the hilltop, looking at the church from the east with both river valleys around it. In the Middle Ages the hilltop was enclosed by a stone defensive wall with towers and a gate; its weathered ruins still line the paths around the church. Old Georgian inscriptions in the Asomtavruli script on the facades name the church’s builders and patrons, among them Stepanoz, Demetre and Adarnase.
