High Drone Orbit from the East. A higher drone orbit about 28 m above the hilltop, looking at the church from the east with both river valleys around it. Mtskheta, across the river, was the capital of the ancient kingdom of Kartli (Iberia) for many centuries before the royal seat moved to Tbilisi. Mtskheta’s Samtavro Monastery marks the place where, by tradition, Saint Nino lived while she preached to the royal court.
