Jvari Monastery: Low Drone Orbit from the East above the Fortress Ruins
Low Drone Orbit from the East above the Fortress Ruins. A low drone pass about 12 m above the hilltop, circling the church from the east. In the Middle Ages the hilltop was enclosed by a stone defensive wall with towers and a gate; its weathered ruins still line the paths around the church. The Great Church of Jvari was raised between about 586 and 605 under Stepanoz I, ruler of Kartli — and it still stands largely as it was built more than 1,400 years ago.
