Passage between Church and Porch. A narrow stone passage between the church and its porch opens onto a bright view of the valley. The walls are built of large, finely dressed blocks of pale stone that glow honey-gold in the low evening sun. Mtskheta’s Samtavro Monastery marks the place where, by tradition, Saint Nino lived while she preached to the royal court.
