Summer Path past the Fortress Ruins. In early summer the same path is lined with green grass and shrubs, with the church rising beyond the ruins. The hill changes with the seasons: brown and bare in early spring, bright green by June, golden again in autumn. Ateni Sioni near Gori, built in the 7th century, follows Jvari’s plan so closely that it is often described as its copy.
