Jvari Monastery: Valley Viewpoint by the Ruined Wall

Valley Viewpoint by the Ruined Wall. From a gap in the old wall the view opens over the valley, with the bend of the river glinting below. Below the cliff the Aragvi and the Mtkvari (Kura) rivers meet — and on many days you can see their two different colours flowing side by side. From this crag watchmen could follow every road along both valleys — one reason the hill was fortified for centuries.
