Timotesubani Monastery — Medieval Brick Church of the Dormition, Borjomi Gorge | 360° Tour
Walk through Timotesubani Monastery in the Borjomi Gorge in 360°. Its Church of the Dormition, raised in rose-pink brick during the reign of Queen Tamar (1184–1213) by Shalva Akhaltsikheli, lord of Tori, is one of the most refined monuments of Georgia's Golden Age. Inside, frescoes of about 1205–1215 unfold 31 scenes — a Deesis with archangels and twelve prophets in the dome, the Life of the Virgin, the Passion and a vast Last Judgement — conserved in 2000–2006. Explore the arched brick entrance that once carried a bell tower, the stone portals, the ruins of the monks' quarters, the little church of St. Barbara on the northern terrace, and drone views over the dome and the forested valley near Tsagveri.
